Imagine we had a machine that could convert matter into energy directly. However, with this machine the matter we use would completely disappear.
Is there some abundant resource that our planet could live without? Is there dangerous things we could put into this machine?
What would you put into it?

Sand. Water. Trash. My enemies.

No it wouldn’t. As you said, it would be converted into energy.
I wouldn’t want to transmute the sand or water- I think that’s all part of some important processes. I think we could transmute some of our dead bodies, though, without disrupting the graveyard ecosystem (?! Is there such a thing?) too much. And I think some people would like to be turned into pure energy after death anyway- so it could probably be sold as a service.
All that left over radioactive waste would be where I would start.
er… you mean “…ARE there dangerous things…”
There is some problems with your English, the plural, that are the problem.
Right about now, after shoveling about 15 inches of it off my deck, snow. The energy would be used to melt the remaining snow from wherever I wanted.
Or, if that’s too simple, how about any lawyer who has previously advertised for class-action lawsuits on TV.
