And that's not just a flip answer. My wife was down with a really bad cold, but I managed to get through Christmas without catching it. I didn't get off scott free, however. It's almost New Years, and I'm starting to feel symptoms. Blech! I also didn't get a Wii. I knew I wasn't going to get one, because they're not gettable -- unless you're willing to pay a huge amount. I want one, but I'll wait until 2008, when I can gut one without the markup. I didn’t get sick. And that’s not just a flip answer. I had a choice between an iPod Nano and a digital camera. I picked the camera, because it would allow me to express my creativity more (I think doing a book of reference photos for artists/painters would be a cool project). I've been taking some halfway decent pics with my cellphone all year but I want something with more capabilities and a macro lens. I honestly don't care about getting stuff as in "it's that time of year so people have to buy me things." I enjoy picking out thoughtful gifts for other people and I spent hours and hours on Amazon looking for just the right thing for certain people. All the while being very grateful to avoid the mall. I think it's a nice excuse to buy things you normally wouldn't, and at the same time avoid going into hock to impress people. By the way, I'm glad I didn't ask for the iPod instead because I read a good AskMe last night about other MP3 players that might serve my needs just as well.
