A tremendous welling up of justified cynicism, at the very least. I suppose it would depend in part on how he was living, upon discovery: as a fat cat down in South America? Or as a monk? Or as a nutso crazy late-stage Howard Hughes trainwreck?
Would the public really care? It only depends on CNN, Fox news, etc, tell us we should care.
there is no public — we are a fragmented society.
cable news isn’t representative of the public, your mom isn’t either and I don’t even know what I want myself half of the time. to suggest there could be a single massive reaction is insulting our individualities.
personally though … I’d toast to the fucker. how many people really do get away with it?
