Mind you, I have no real idea why because I'm an atheist who's not especially afraid of flying. I also tend to be generally wary of taking <em>too</em> much notice of the fact that things are going very well when they are, or saying anything too "gloaty" or complacent, even silently in my head, if I'm having a really good day or run of good luck -- it's just begging the cosmos to take you down a peg, usually in a highly nasty way. If I know I'm going to a cemetery, I wear a necklace made of black obsidian because (according to lore) it wards off the undead.
