One of the unavoidable constants of growing older is looking back and realizing how wrong you were about some things when you were younger. Big things and little things; stances taken on ethics, aesthetics, and so on.
In that spirit, what are you doing now that your younger self was never going to do? Or what aren’t you doing that your younger self was never going to give up?

At various points I was never going to: drink alcohol, get married, or have children.
I was never going to give up my dream of becoming a professional musician.
As a semi-professional ceramicist (read:potter): I was never going to make ashtrays. Damn hippies, they keep buying them and now I can’t stop…
Get married. 7 1/2 years later and I’m still kinda surprised at that one.
I was never going to have any regrets.
I don’t know that I’ve made that many compromises yet. This is the advantage of having never really done much of anything to begin with.
I have recently begun pulling my trousers up to beneath my armpits, though. It’s comfier that way. Especially with a belt AND braces.
Have kids is mine. Cheat (on a partner) is the other one. But I’m still young, so maybe I’ll come back to this thread in ten years :)
wear a tie.
still have not.
I was always so sure I wanted kids. Now I’m not. I’m not sure I even want to get married, if/when the right guy comes along.
I am working and boy is my younger self pissed about that.
i was never going to say “goddamn.”
