If you could ask one question, big or small, of (your preferred, for this exercise, conception of) God, and get a straight, thorough answer, what would it be? Why that question?

Okay, let's hear it.

I come from a place where I believe that if we are anything beyond the merely physical, we are similar to what the Minbari of Babylon 5 believe – we are projections of the Universe, trying to figure itself out (and I know that belief is probably based on something real here on earth).
In short, if we are anything beyond the physical, we are then spiritual beings or projections having a physical experience in an attempt to gain understanding.
If I could ask that one larger spiritual presence that this metaphysical view assumes in behind it all a question now, it would be this:
What are we here to understand, exactly? And how far along are we?
Ok, that’s two questions. I can’t help it. I like to cheat.
My internal dialogue is rich and varied. But here’s the rub: if I have a question, chances are I don’t have an immediate answer to it.
My main question for God is “Are you real?” but that’s one’s already answered if God is talking back to me. So… given that I’d be pretty surprised to find God existing at all, I would want to know what the afterlife is like and what I need to do to earn a good one. That’s something I don’t spend any time worrying about now, and I wonder if I’d have to make up for lost time. Not because I go around doing “sinful” things now, it’s just that it’s not even on my radar to be earning admission to heaven. I hope my idea of being “good” matches up with God’s, if we ever have this conversation.
My question for God: Why do people think you’re such a big deal? Cite specific examples.
I guess the examples would be the answer I’m looking for.
